Natural Growth Tips
While I love seeing my clients regularly, I also recognize that the goal of extensions is to eventually get your natural hair to the extension length if possible. Here are some pro tips I've learned over the years of working with clients focusing on hair growth. Some of these tips are great to pair with your hair extensions. Just keep in mind that pairing these tips with extensions may cause the hair to grow faster, which means more frequent tightening appointments.
THESE ARE IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
Over the years I have had so many clients have tons of success with Biotin. Biotin is a B vitamin that supports skin health and normal cell growth. You'll also notice that your nails will become stronger while taking Biotin. Biotin also supports blood sugar levels and protein metabolism.
Most clients start seeing new baby hairs growing in within 3 months of taking Biotin. The clients with the most success continued taking Biotin regularly for at least a year. Chewable or liquid Biotin is better than tablets because the body absorbs the vitamin better. I've linked a highly rated Biotin brand on Amazon so you can read reviews.
This is going to sound weird, but there is an entire culture of people praising the vaginal cream Monostat for helping their hair grow. Just check out this list of YouTube reviews of people raving about Monostat!
Biotin + Other Growth Vitamins
This hair growth vitamin has Biotin in it, plus tons of other vitamins that enhance hair growth. It's like Biotin on steroids.
4. DHT Blocker Vitamins
DHT is present in both men and women and stunts hair growth. As we get older, more and more DHT is produced by the body which binds to the roots of the hair and tells them to stop producing hair. DHT blocker vitamins promote hair growth by blocking DHT from inhibiting hair growth. These DHT blocking vitamins help produce hair growth.
5. Castor Oil
Castor oil has been a long time go-to for hair growth. Check out these YouTubers and what they say about castor oil. To use castor oil for hair growth, simply part the hair in sections, and apply a small amount of castor oil to the scalp. Either every night or every other night before bed.
One of the most important, and most ignored practices for hair health and overall health. Stress is one of the biggest factors when it comes to hair loss. Meditation and yoga can help reduce stress and bring your hair back. My advice is to look into "Gentle Flow" yoga classes and guided meditation classes. If you can make it to Santa Ana on Wednesday nights, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the House of Guru Ram Dass . This type of meditation changed my life and dramatically reduced my stress.
